After the title of each tape is a brief description (if applicable) and
other pertinent information including the following codes:
PRE - Includes pre-game (partial
or complete).
HALF - Includes halftime (partial
or complete).
POST - Includes post-game (partial
or complete).
ED - Some parts have been edited
or removed.
HUD - Some or all huddles (time
between plays) have been removed.
BW - Black and white.
Each tape also has a quality rating and tape length. Here
is my rating criteria:
10 - Master
9 - Excellent
8 - Good (minor blurriness, slight
double-image, etc.)
7 - Average (blurriness, overly
bright or dark, etc.)
6 - Poor (lots of blurriness,
some static, etc.)
5 or below - Awful (barely watchable)
Additional notes - If a tape
has excess (full-screen) vibrations the word "vibrations" will be
shown. Also, some tapes may display some form of twitchiness or warping. This
will be noted but will not affect the quality rating. (For example: a tape
may have a very sharp picture but the film warps from time to time. In this
case, the quality rating would be "(9, twitchiness)".) Any other
problems with a tape (such as film blemishes or sound muffle) will be noted.
The ratings above are based on film crispness, color, and overall quality.
The age of the tape has also been taken into consideration (a "9"
from 1970 isn't as sharp as a "9" from 1995). These ratings are based
on my best honest judgment and from time-to-time my opinion may differ from
someone else's.
Also, I have not completely viewed every single film, so it is possible
that a part of a film may be missing or have poorer quality than the rest of
the tape. I try my best to keep up with this on each and every tape.
